What I am getting from ths class

This class makes me think about scenarios that I would not ever think about, and it keeps the adrenline pumping. I like that just glad that its just scenarios.

Did You Know ????

Did you know that if you are newly diagnosed with HIV and have not been treated with other medications that you may qualifiy for new investigational drugs that are called HIV integrase inhibitors or an FDA approved anti-HIV drug called efavirenz. This study consists of 17 visits to the doctor over a 96 week period. The participants recieve exams, bloodwork, and medication at no cost. To qualify you have to complete a screening and series of personal questions. Go to www.spring1study.com/questionnaire to get all the information.

  1. I agree, this class does keep you on your toes, everytime I learn something new I start calling family members. I think I am driving them nuts, but my sister told me the other day that she is thinks about everything I tell her.

With the new investigational drugs, are they drugs to try cure the virus, or just like any other drugs for HIV? What happens after the 17 visits?

  2. I agree as well that this class is very informative and to learn about HIV/AIDS and the stimulations that we have done to further connect us with this virus is awesome. That is great that programs exist out there for people who recently obtained the virus and have no money to pay for medication. They could participate in a program such as this and obtain free medication. However, what scares me about investigational drugs and the same goes for new vaccines (such as the new swine flu vaccine) is that you really do not know the long term affects about the treatment that you are getting. This kind of scares me a little!
